01
The zoo with the most giant pandas in China
Chongqing Zoo keeps more giant pandas than any other zoo in China, with more than twenty on regular display. It began keeping pandas in 1960 and is one of the country's earliest breeding bases. Inside the panda house the space is full of round, tumbling bodies, and children can see a dozen or more pandas at once crunching bamboo, rolling about and climbing trees — a gathering of pandas that is hard to find at other zoos.
02
A rare southern alpine snowfield — skiing without going north
Xiannv Mountain stands at 1,900 metres and is the largest alpine ski area around Chongqing, known as the Snowfield of the South. From December to February each year, a hundred thousand mu of grassland and three hundred and thirty thousand mu of forest are covered in snow, creating a spectacular forest snowfield. It is about two and a half hours by road from central Chongqing, making it the most convenient choice for anyone who wants to try skiing without travelling to the north.
03
A city painted in the sky — Chongqing's most romantic way to open the night
The drone light show at Danzishi Old Street is a regular staging of the New Rhythm Chongqing drone display and the first super-scale regular drone show in China. Thousands of drones lift off from Danzishi Plaza in Nan'an District and assemble in the night sky where the two rivers meet, instantly turning the dark into an enormous canvas. The show combines a city lighting ceremony with drone formations; across roughly twenty minutes of aerial imagery, thousands of drones and twin formations fly in coordination to present a complete visual narrative of mountain, river, people and city. This is not an ordinary light show — it is a city painting itself for its visitors.
04
An ocean park designed for children — fun without the effort
The venue is designed from a child's perspective and their instinct to climb and touch, expanding what children can see, with interactive installations throughout. Professional interaction guides give explanations, and there is a Super Ocean Guardian adventure task built around breeding, rescue and protection, so children gain knowledge of the ocean while playing, come to understand it, love it and want to protect it. The ocean classroom opens regularly, combining education with enjoyment, so parents can let children learn while playing with peace of mind.
Four-star equivalent rooms throughout, clean and well equipped. Different room types can be arranged on request, and every room includes daily breakfast.
